New Mexico -Tularosa (Jan 22-23, 2022)

After we left Las Cruces, we headed to Alamogordo to see Lorraine’s sister, Debbie and her husband Marc. We stayed in the Tularosa Vineyards and Winery using our Harvest Host membership again. This obviously was outside of Alamogordo but it head a big lot and great wines. (Yep, Mike is calling Lorraine a Whino! lol) Billy’s Blush (yep Billy the Kid again) was a great berry wine. Mike liked the Apple Table Wine which is a “Medium body aromatic, crisp, bright New Mexico apple flavor”.

“The winery opened in December of 1989 with an initial production of 100 cases. Shortly thereafter the winery began winning medals in New Mexico and southwestern wine competitions and it soon became clear that the Tularosa Basin could grow some excellent quality wine grapes. However, it also became quite clear that access to more quality local vineyards would be needed. “

The Winery is very small.

In addition to staying there, we of course went into Alamogordo where they sell Pistachios as the Pistachio Tree Ranch & Arena Blanca Winery. You can see our link in 2019 New Mexico – Alamogordo (Apr 5-9, 2019) for more details about that.

We were able to taste test three new flavors and looking forward to the new one call Chili Pineapple. We have asked for that at Christmas.
