Hawaii (Nov 22-Dec 1) #1

It has been a long time since we posted in June. We spent six weeks in Pennsylvania while our RV was being worked on and then landed in Florida as of August 1 where we have been since. We will be in Orlando until April 2023. This allowed us to take an extended stop which helped because of the high diesel costs. We have been in Orlando RV Resort in Clermont, Florida.

However, we were finally able to go on our Hawaii vacation after two years, which was cancelled due to Covid. It was great to be able to shut down everything – including work and explore Maui again. We were there from November 22 until December 1. We celebrated Thanksgiving at Fleetwood’s On Front Street which is Mick Fleetwood Restaurant & Bar. Unfortunately, he was not there again so we missed out on seeing him. However, they served a great Thanksgiving meal.

We had a lovely time there and the service and food was outstanding.

Of course we did some snorkeling. We found one spot we will never return to, which was supposedly the top snorkeling spot in Maui. This spot required you to walk through a long muddy path, since it rained recently. Then you had to walk down a collapsed cement pad, cross over several feet of large rocks and then finally get in. It was exhausting getting in and out of the water. The long walk shown below but we finally made it.

Also we spent the day at Black Rock which was walking distance from our hotel. Claims to be a great place to cliff dive but, of course, we didn’t try that nor did we see anyone attempting it.

The snorkeling trip ended up well with many turtles in the water.

That wraps up this post. Please see #2 and #3 for Hawaii.
